0.8M Temporary Flood Protection Wall Equipment Reusable Waterproof Barrier

PURPOSE

In recent years, world-wide climate changes bring morfe and more heavy rains and typhoons lead to
severe flood to our cities especially in low-lying areas near ocean, which has resulted in large amounts of
property damage.

At this stage, the traditional sandbags solution has many shortcomings, such as long preparation time,
inconvenient transportation, and carrying difficulties. And some customers don't want any pre-construction at site but prefer the fully removable temporary flood protection solutions.

Our company's newly developed temporary flood control water barrier, has a small storage footprint, none pre-construction required, easy and quick installation, good water blocking effect and many other advantages, is the first choice for future urban flood control.

Our temprary flood barrier products--the L-Shape Free Standing Flood Board FLOODGUARD, is including F50 series for a flood protection height H50CM, and F80 series for a flood protection height H80CM, as well as F100 series for H100CM protection.

Waterproof Greatly Improved

The addition of the front P-shape EPDM seal increases the waterproof performance by 50% and significantly reduces the
water leakage which reaches the standard of Japan's Class 1 waterproof equipment.

Structure Significantly Strengthened

The 1st generation of board joints were at 90° angles and were easily damaged due to stress concentration. We
have changed the shape of the joint surface of the board to a folded angle, thus dispersing the stress and
significantly improving the structural strength.

New Stainless Steel Locking Clamp Design

A stainless steel locking clamp is new provided on the board, to lock each connecting board. The 1st generation was
buckled together directly by the slotted channel in the board, due to the low strength of the plastic material offering un-sufficient locking strength, in extreme cases these buckles may slip out leads to a risk of failure.

The new stainless steel locking design makes the connection more stable, and doubled the overall rigidity of the full
system.

Contacting Interface Reinforced

Reinforcing bracket with the seals is designed at the contacting interface to prevent damage and extend the life.

Storage Space Reduced

The boards can be stored in two or three pieces connected and placed on its side, to reduce the storage area. And the
assembled form can reduce the transporting and deploy time for emergency.

Deployment

1. Confirm the site for deployment
2. Clean the gound of the site
3. Stand behind the flood board to place the front of the board facing the water
4. Set the first left board(FG,FGL) as initial at the wet side.
5. Connect the following to the right end.
6. Apply the right board(FG,FGR) to tightly connect the wall at right side.

Q: Are these flood barrier system permanent?

A: For Demountable Flood Barrier, as the names shows, it is a kind of mobile flood barrier actually, only partial pre-installed (End post), the other parts including the central posts and barrier panel can be removed for storage after flood ends. But once it is deployed on the flood warning, the flood resistance is permanent. For Glass Flood Wall, it is permanently constructed to offer permanent flood protection performance but the glass is still able to be replaced in any case it breaks. For Freestanding Temporary Flood Barrier, it is fully removable without any construction.

Q: How do I choose between demountable flood barrier and the Freestanding Temporary Flood Barrier?

A: Actually Demountable flood wall is a kind of temporary flood wall as well, because it is only part pre-installed, but it can be removed very easily after flood event to leave almost none visual intrusion to the landscape. Even when it is fully erected, the anodized aluminum appears elegant pleasant and tidy with none visual impact. And it offers definitely much better flood prevention performance than the conventional temporary barriers because temporary flood barrier is mainly for water division and it does not perform as much better as demountable flood barrier in water tightness. So it depends on your performance request.

Q: What is the difference between your flood barrier and a permanent flood dam?

A: Constructing a permanent dam may be a good idea, but it costs millions of dollars, and the concrete dam will block the eye sight and really a great visual intrusion to local landscape. Comparing in cost, deploying our sectional barriers is a better idea in both cost budget and visual amenity.

Q: What is the material of the flood barrier?

A: Aluminum Flood Barrier consisted of mainly well engineered argon arc welded aluminum extrusion profile, aluminum beams/barrier panel/stop logs or 3 layer laminated glass panel, with different gaskets including EPDM for posts and panels while PE/PU at bottom to the ground to prevent the water seepage. And it also contains some accessories as anchor plates and pressing tools. And Freestanding Flood Barrier is extruded by ABS plastic.

Q: Is this mobile flood wall heavy for operation?

A: For metal barriers, it is made of light weighed aluminum, so basically it is easy to operate. For glass wall, it is really heavy because its 3 ply laminated structure if the pane is big and a crane would be required during installation.

Q: What is the flood protection height of demountable flood wall system?

A: We can produce from 200 to 4600mm as per customer's requirement, the height can be increased or reduced by adding or removing the stop logs/barrier panel in the middle at an every 200mm. For glazing wall, the height will be fixed at design stage from required 400 to 1500mm, but thanks to the exactly same designed posts as the removable flood barrier, extra aluminum beams could be installed right sitting on top of the current glass to increase the flood protection height if any emergency.

Q: What is the maximum single span for the mobile flood panels and what is the total length limit?

A: It depends on the height, if it is low, the MAX. span can reach 6 meters, but with the height increasing, the designed single span should be reduced accordingly to fit the load requirement for security reason by adding central posts to support. The total length is unlimited by adopting the central posts.

Q: What is the maximum single span for glass flood barrier?

A: The max size we can offer is H1200*L3000mm or H1500*L2500mm. The total length is unlimited by adopting the central posts.

Q: Can the flood barrier be installed with curvature in an arc or for corners?

A: At design stage for the special requirement on posts according to the site assessment, both of the frame barrier and the glass floodwall can be fabricated to fit any shapes perfectly including arc, parabolic or angels in any degrees. And for the standard posts, during the sliding of panels into the posts in installation, a 5 degrees of angle is allowed so an arc or curve could be reached together with the increase of central posts if the perimeter is long enough.

Q: Will the mobile flood board system require concrete foundations?

A: It depends. The end post could be installed on front wall, on side wall or on bottom foundation. But if the opening is quite big and central post should be brought in, then it will need concrete foundation for fixing on the ground.

Q: How long will it take to deploy the metal barrier?

A: For first time installation, the pre-installed parts will take some time, but after that, against each flood aleart, a team of 5 can quickly deploy a flood wall in length 100meter with the height 1meter within 1 hour.

Q: Is the flood wall safe?

A: The aluminum extrusion is all well engineered to offer robust and tough performance, it is designed to resist the impact of 20KN/M2. The compressed gaskets stops the water in a very small leakage which is allowed within standard.

Q: How can I repair the aluminum flood barrier and what is the warranty?

A: Basically the main repair will be the seals/gaskets replacement which is low in cost and could be carried out very easily, and some cleaning and maintenance like stain on surface. The system is with a design life 20-40 years.

Q: How do you guarantee the performance of the flood protection system?

A: We have a test station for load testing as well as a water tank for leakage test in house. And we have obtained the official test report from SGS according to Britsh Flood Protection Standard PAS1188, and material test report from China National Building Material Test Center. We are also approaching for FM Approval accreditation according to US standard.
